Forever Safe - Jody Hedlund

Forever Safe – Jody Hedlund

Jody Hedlund is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE authors!  Period.  Love her books!  Forever Safe keeps her on my favorite list.
Forever Safe is book number 4 in the Beacons of Hope series.  It is the story of Victoria Cole.  Victoria has led a pampered life, but I don’t think she truly realizes HOW pampered a life she lives.  Victoria is the only daughter – only child - of an extremely wealthy family.  She has been a run-away bride a few times.  Her life has been threatened, and her bodyguard was injured.
Tom Cushman is hired to be her temporary bodyguard.  After Victoria’s life was threatened he, along with her father, decide that Victoria needs to be taken away and hidden.  They got married in name only, and head to his parent’s home – a lighthouse on the tip of Cape Cod.  There are no servants – no cooks – no ladies maids – no maids – in the lighthouse.  Tom keeps the “in name only” part a secret from his parents.
Victoria learns to think about people other than herself.  She learns to cook, clean and sew.  She learns to love her new life.
Now, there is definitely more to this story, but I don’t want to ruin it for you!  READ THIS BOOK!  YOU WILL LOVE IT!

Kiss the Bride - McClone, Hatcher and Springer

Kiss the Bride  - Melissa McClone, Robin Lee Hatcher and Kathryn Springer

Kiss the Bride is a collection of 3 novellas.  I love the cover.  I love the idea behind the stories.
Picture Perfect Love: A June Wedding Story by Melissa McClone is a story about a love rekindled.  Jenna Harrison and Ashton Vance grew up on “different sides of the tracks”.  They overcame these differences and were about to get married.  However, a lie was told which Ashton believed, and the wedding was stopped.  This story takes place several years later.  I like the story, but I was really frustrated with Ashton’s sister.  Read it, and maybe you will understand what I mean.

I Hope You Dance: A July Wedding Story by Robin Lee Hatcher is a story about Grant Nichols and Skye Foster.  It was cute, but a little too simplistic.  I know it is hard to develop round characters in a novella, but I thought this story was a little too…I don’t know….simple.  Read it, maybe you will disagree with what I think!  (I hope you do!)

Love on a Deadline: An August Wedding Story by Kathryn Springer was a story about Mac Davis and Hollis Channing.  If I am being honest, I never really got into this story.  Sorry!

I think sometimes you read books and you would either love or hate the book depending on where you are in your life.  For me, although there were many fun things in these novellas;  I just didn’t enjoy the books.
