The Mark of a King - Jocelyn Green

The Mark of the King – Jocelyn Green

I have never read a book by Jocelyn Green.  If I am being completely honest, I requested this book to review and then I didn’t really want to read it.  I don’t know why I felt this way, but I did.  I am SO glad I already had my copy.  I LOVED this book.  I loved the cover.  I felt hooked on the first page.
Julianne is a victim of an unfortunate situation.  She is an apprentice midwife, who is requested more than her trainer.  Unfortunately, a mother dies after giving birth and Julianne finds herself in jail.  She has the opportunity to flee from France to Louisiana to help populate the colony.  Her long lost brother is in the army in Louisiana so she sees this as an opportunity to find him.  She is forced to marry, and finds herself living on the edge of a swamp.
She faces many difficult circumstances.  She has been marked, which was a horrible thing.  I think telling you more about this story would involve spoiling the book for you.  However, this book is full of twists and turns.  It isn’t your typical book where each and every situation works out on almost on the spot.
THIS BOOK IS GREAT!  I LOVED IT!  LOVED IT!  I will read more books from Jocelyn Green now!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review!!
